Those who have gone ahead of you are either impostors or forerunners. Do not fret; they will either fizzle out or hand over to you.
Judas of Galilee came on the scene at the time of the census; the same time Jesus was born. He got people to follow him and was killed, a form of what the new baby Jesus had come to do. However, at his death, Judas’ followers were scattered and disillusioned without being able to sustain his movement.
Jesus did not rush out to the scene because someone out there was trying out his idea, plan, vision etc. No! Jesus took his time to grow. He took his time to mature. He took his time to happen at his time. He refused to be put on the run by another doing something, as he wanted to do. The original is never threatened by the imposters.
Let them go ahead and conquer the market or win the crowd; when you come around having fully matured, your world will gather round you. It is not about the first on the scene but he/she who has the depth. Having tasted the former, the quality of the latter is enough to win people over. Jesus took his time to build quality.
About 30 years after the appearance of Judas of Galilee when Jesus showed up publicly, the former was nowhere to be found. In fact, he was not remembered to have existed except for men like Gamaliel, experts in national affairs, who reminded people of him. However, centuries, sorry, millenniums after Jesus left, he is still the main actor on the scene. The whole world history hangs around him- his birth and death. What an impact!
You need not bother yourself with people, as in many out there doing what you believe you are called to do in this planet. They might have gone far while you are yet to start. They might have become household names when you are yet to get a name. Fear not! If they are planning and doing things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. When your latter appear on the scene having fully matured, their former might be nowhere to be found. So, concentrate on growing and maturing.
However, if what they are doing is from God, rejoice. Yes, rejoice! They are messengers sent ahead of you, and they will prepare your way, filling valleys, leveling mountains and hills, straightening curves and smoothing out rough places. Such was John the Baptist to Jesus. The works of such forerunners make yours easier. They would do their part in their time and handover the baton to you when it is your time, which comes on your growing and maturing.
