Had it all planned
And maybe I did shout it loud-
“It’s my life! My way has to win!”
Called on God yet I chose the paths of my wheel
Years! I consciously or unconsciously chased my will
Now I’m grateful He chastised rather than let go of me;
All I felt was pain and shame
Oh! I didn’t know it was for my gain
The future I cried to have
Now the past I’m glad I never had
He rescued me from my destruction
And taught me victory in His instruction
And now, every day
I learn to say
take the seat
take the wheel
Where You lead
Let me be
Do not let me stay
In that place which makes You look away
If God didn’t let you go
If He used His mighty hand to stop your selfish goals
Then know that you’re special in His sight
He holds you as the apple of His eyes
His Will…
Safest place to be –
Doesn’t always feel like it
Sometimes makes us feel He’s mean
But if our patience does not slip
Eventually we’ll clearly see
It’s the best place indeed
A haven so real!
